SPECIALTY CHEMICALS FACILITY NEAR VALDOSTA, GA NEEDS: PROCESS ENGINEER • Direct / Staff Position • Full Benefits Offered • Competitive Salary DESCRIPTION: We’re looking for a Process Engineer who will • Provide process engineering and technical support to site operations. • Provide process engineering analysis and support on a site wide basis to help achieve the overall site objectives. • Participate in, coordinate, and lead improvement projects and initiatives in production, technology, EHS, and quality. • Identify and recommend process improvements and provide process troubleshooting and optimization related to improving efficiency, safety, quality, yield, and capability. • Work with the Manufacturing Services Team to provide site support for new product scale-up activities to ensure Product Launch Excellence. • Interface with the production team to provide technical support, and serve as the site technical resource for manufacturing processes. • Participate and lead quality non-conformance investigations related to process engineering. • Conduct experiments using DOE principles, run plans, and change management tools to identify and implement improvement opportunities addressing quality, costs, throughput, and operating reliability. • Organize, lead, and participate in improvement initiatives, projects, and process optimization teams to meet improvement objectives. • Monitor operations on a daily/weekly basis, reviewing KPI's, operating logs, Distributed Control System trends, quality, and other sources of data to ensure reliable, consistent, and cost effective operations. • Design and implement new processes and/or equipment upgrades. Manage capital project assignments as necessary to support plant improvements.
Desired Skills: 
BACKGROUND: • BS degree in Chemical engineering • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations, with a broad understanding of chemical processes. • Strong computer capabilities, including Microsoft Office. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and must possess a strong technical/problem solving aptitude. • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with individuals at multiple levels of the organization. • Experience with production, process, or mechanical troubleshooting and optimization activities at a manufacturing facility desired. • Lean/Six Sigma training and certification preferred.
